LECTURES

Lectures pricing and fees are available upon request. Lectures are combined with a trunk show of my work for no additional fee. Facility equipment needed: Digital projector, slide screen and tables for displaying quilts. I will bring my own computer. If you do not have a digital projector please let me know in advance and I can bring my own. The duration of a lecture/trunk show is generally between 40-50 minutes depending on your needs.

My Creative Journey

From my humble beginnings to my own quilt designs, I will take you on my own creative journey.  This presentation showcases a chronological review of my various quilts and projects while discussing the inspiration and technique behind each one.

The Best-Made Bags

Learn all about the secrets of what makes a quality handmade bag.  In this lecture, we will review a large variety of stabilizers and interfacings that provide structure and durability to your handmade bags.  We will also review a variety of bag hardware to help take your creations to the next level!  For in-person lectures, each audience member will be able to pass around a swatch of common interfacings to help them better understand it’s particular feel and also its use!

A single 3-hour workshop and 6-hour (one day) classes as well as two day classes are available.

Foundation Paper Piecing (3-hour class)

In this 3-Hour workshop, class participants will learn about the foundation paper piecing technique.  I will provide a simple pattern and teach best practices for this technique.  We will also review specific notions that are very helpful with this technique.  These skills and techniques will be very useful for future patterns and for your quilting arsenal.

Deer Me Tula Pink ID Wallet with Lanyard
The ID Wallet (6-hour class)

In this 1-Day workshop, class participants will create their own (modified) Kristine ID Wallet with a removable lanyard and wristlet.  This class will review how to create an ID window (using vinyl), creating zipper tabs and installing a zipper and also experience using my Rivet Press to install rivets for the lanyard and wristlet.  These skills and techniques will be very useful for future projects and for your sewing arsenal.

The Betty Bowler Bag (2-day class)

In this 2-Day workshop, class participants will create their own Betty Bowler Bag.  This class will review how to make your own piping, install several types of bag hardware, install a drop-in lining, 2 types of zipper installations and also add an adjustable and removable shoulder strap.  These skills and techniques will be very useful for future projects and for your sewing arsenal.
