Quilts for Carolina: Help Us Bring Comfort to Those in Need

Hurricane Helene has left devastating impacts on the mountain communities of North Carolina. Record-breaking floods ripped through towns like Asheville, Chimney Rock, and Rutherford County, displacing families and leaving hundreds of people dead in the state. Entire homes have been washed away, and communities are still without power, clean water, and basic necessities. With the cold weather setting in, there is an urgent need for warm quilts, coats, and baby formula  .

My family is preparing to drive to the Asheville area with a large box truck to deliver much-needed supplies. We are working in partnership with Samaritan’s Purse and to ensure these donations are distributed to the hardest-hit areas. While there is a need for propane and other supplies we cannot legally transport, quilts are something I can organize, and we have the space to bring as many as possible.

We will be collecting donations of clean, serviceable quilts, winter coats, and baby formula until Wednesday, October 23rd. Please help us by donating if you can.

Yes! So many generous quilters – showing that the need is real and urgent!

      1. actually, I saw today that she (L&B) is referring quilts go to local churches, Samaritan’s Purse to distribute since they will know the needs of the community. I actually bought 5 sleeping bags to be be distributed, some supplies for a veterinarian who was flooded.
        GREAT JOB, NICOLE !!!

  2. Wow!!! Thank you for what you are doing. I live in North Carolina. While I am not in the affected area, I do have a vacation home there and one of my daughters lives in Henersonville which was hit hard. I have been to volunteer, helping to distribute and organize supplies. The devastation is absolutely heart breaking. Seeing places that will never be the same again and knowing that some families have lost everything that they had. It is so heartwarming to see so many people from all over coming together to send supplies and come to help with clean up and feeding people. So thank you for everything.

I have ladies coats to donate and need a mailing address closer to my home in NW South Carolina. Our area was hit by the hurracane resulting in only electricity being off for 4 days at my home but areas closer to the NC border were hit very hard. If anyone knows of a mailing address that I can use, please let me know.

Sorry that I don’t have an address for you. We are working directly with Samaritan’s Purse and they are expecting a single delivery from us.

  4. I placed an order via Amazon for a fleece blanket and some formula, but I didn’t see your Amazon Wish List until afterwards. I hope they arrive and are what you looking to receive. I couldn’t find a phone number for you for the delivery address info, so used my own. I hope I don’t receive a call from Amazon asking where you are located!

  5. As someone living in the mountains of North Carolina, I just wanted to say thank you! It’s been a beautiful thing to see how supportive people have been. Sending all the quilters much love and gratitude!
