Quilt Donation Drive 2025 – Half Square Sunburst Quilt
I’m excited to be part of the Quilt Donation Drive Blog Hop, an incredible initiative organized by Stacey Lee of Stacey Lee Creative. Stacey has been leading this effort to support Comfort Cases, a nonprofit that provides handmade quilts to children entering foster care. This year, Moda Fabrics was a major sponsor, and the Quilt Donation Drive was even featured in their booth at QuiltCon Phoenix 2025! It was amazing to see the quilting community come together for such an important cause.

Giving back through quilting is something I truly believe in, and this reminds me of our Quilts for Carolina initiative last year after the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene. Just like then, we have so much more love to quilt for charity, and I’d love for you to join me in making a difference.
My Featured Quilt: Half Square Sunburst
For this event, I’m highlighting my Half Square Sunburst Quilt—a simple yet striking pattern made entirely of half-square triangles, using just three different fabrics. It’s quick to put together, and if you have AccuQuilt cutting system, the process is even smoother.
This pattern is also great for using up fabric scraps, making it a fantastic choice for donation quilts.
Check out three different color variations of this quilt:
If you’d like to make this quilt, I’ve got everything you need:
I also have fabric kits available if you’re looking to create something fresh! These kits offer high contrast and interest with curated fabric combinations. You can find them here:
