Churn Chain Quilt-A-Long Recap
Over the last 8 weeks, thousands of quilters signed up for our Churn Chain Quilt-A-Long. They tackled the challenge with great enthusiasm. We’ve seen some stunning finished pieces and continue to cheer on the steady progress of others. Enjoy this recap. We highlight the creativity and dedication shown each week in our vibrant community.
Week One – Participants Chose thier Pattern Format
The Churn Chain Quilt-A-Long started with participants selecting their pattern format. Both digital and printed versions were available. Quilters chose the option that best fit their learning style and experience. We also offered video courses as an optional resource. These courses helped accelerate their projects. Regular progress updates and photos kept everyone motivated and connected. This enhanced the QAL experience, especially for those who prefer learning through videos.
Week Two – Choosing Your Fabric
In the second week, excitement started to build as participants chose their fabrics. This is a favorite step for many. The week was special, thanks to our sponsor, Benartex Fabric Company. They provided three pre-cut fabric bundles as prizes. These bundles differed from the quilt kits but enhanced any quilter’s collection. This sparked more enthusiasm within our community.
We also featured Christa Watts Dazzle Dots fabric line. Christa was kind enough to offer 2 styles of kits!
Week Three – Cutting Your Fabric
June Tailor sponsored Week Three, focusing on cutting fabric. Their products made this task delightful instead of tedious. They offered up a June Tailor Rotary Cutter, a June Tailor Cutting Mat and a June Tailor Shape Cut Plus Ruler.
This essential step prepared us for the beautiful designs ahead. Their tools ensured efficiency and precision in our work. Participants shared this step inside our Facebook Community and on Instagram. Here are some snapshots of their progress for this step

Week Four was a critical phase in our Quilt-A-Long. It focused on creating the Churn Dash blocks. Participants worked on small Churn Dash blocks and large block components. They did not assemble the larger pieces yet.
This week, our sponsors generously provided essential tools. Oliso contributed a Mp3Pro Mini Project Iron for precise pressing. Magic Quilting and Crafting Spray offered a Starter Kit for fabric handling. The Daylight Company provided a Smart Go Lamp for optimal lighting. Winners of these prizes were randomly selected. They were chosen from participants who shared their progress on Facebook and Instagram. This added excitement to the week’s activities.

Week 8 – This recap
The Grand Prize for the final week is a Juki HZL-80HP-A. This is the perfect prize to end a fantastic Quilt-A-Long! There were so many active participants to choose from. We compiled all our registered and active participants and came away with one winner. How exciting. I know she will love this sewing machine just as much as I do! It’s perfect for travel and so lightweight!
