Mug Rug Swap Recap

Our Mug Rug Swap just wrapped up—and wow, did our community bring the creativity! Swappers from all over the country (and a few international friends too!) exchanged beautifully handmade mug rugs, and each one was full of personality, color, and care.

This swap was open to everyone, and we were thrilled to welcome both newcomers and returning participants. Members of our Quilt Block Club members enjoyed complimentary access, but whether you joined through our emails, social media, or word of mouth, we’re so glad you were part of it!

A Stunning Showcase of Handmade Mug Rugs

One of the best parts of recapping this swap? Scrolling through all the photos and stories shared by our amazing community! From bold geometrics to playful seasonal themes—and everything in between—each mug rug was bursting with creativity and personality. Some makers pulled from their favorite fabric stash, while others chose fresh colors inspired by their partners. Each piece was truly one-of-a-kind, making this swap extra special.

Connecting Through Creativity

More than just a fun project, this swap was all about connection. Each participant was paired with a partner, creating space for conversation, inspiration, and a bit of friendship along the way. It’s been wonderful to see new bonds forming and the community growing through shared creativity and kindness.

A Joyful Zoom Celebration

To wrap up the swap, we hosted a fun Zoom hangout where participants could come together, share their finished mug rugs, and connect in real time. These gatherings are always such a treat—it’s heartwarming to see everyone’s reactions and hear the stories behind each creation. And when swap partners meet face-to-face (even virtually), it adds an extra layer of joy to the experience. There were laughs, heartfelt moments, and plenty of beautiful work to admire.
